Jaime Hernandez: The 2009 Lincoln Commemorative coins were issued in 2009 to commemorate Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birth date. The coin was authorized under Public Law 109-285. The U.S. Mint implemented a 500,000 coin limit for both the $1 Proof and Uncirculated coins combined.

How many pennies were issued in 2009?

In 2009, 129.6 million pennies, covering all of the designs, were struck at the Philadelphia mint. While this is a relatively low number, the coins that were released into circulation are not considered rare and therefore are only worth their face value.
